What Boardwalk Construction Actually Involves
A boardwalk is not a wide deck. Coastal boardwalk construction in Florida involves CCCL permitting, coastal setback compliance, Army Corps of Engineers coordination in some cases, tidal and storm surge exposure, and the structural demands of high-traffic pedestrian use over long spans. The substructure must be engineered for the specific site — pile depth, joist sizing, and hardware specification all depend on the exposure conditions and load requirements.
